Welcome to The Collective

This is where conversations turn into connection.

Where stories aren’t judged, they’re witnessed.

Where being yourself isn’t something you have to justify.

You’re just…

Finally understood

What is The Collective

Think of The Collective as the online meeting space for friends, freethinkers, and learners - but deeper, kinder, and a lot more honest.

A private space to connect, learn, and talk openly about what’s really happening in our workplaces, industries, and everyday lives.

💬
Connection
Shared stories. Shared voices.
Change begins when we collaborate, not compete.
🔍
Context
Articles, research, and information that cut through the noise and bring clarity.
🦁
Courage
Speak your truth, and make space to listen. Humility is part of the work.

The Wall

Think of it as our collective bulletin board:
Where the truth gets posted, celebrated, questioned, and backed up by actual people, not algorithms.

  • Stories people need to say out loud
  • Hard questions we don’t dodge
  • Things we’re learning, unlearning, and calling out
  • Notes of solidarity when someone needs backup
  • Articles, Essays, Policy, and Research that gives you the knowledge and tools to start the conversation to change the narrative.

Add your voice. Leave a note. Read what others have lived.

This is where connection becomes courage.

This Week Inside The Collective

  • New post: Education Gaps among Women
  • New post: Gender Identity and its History

Share Your Story

Because every inequity, has a human on the other side of it.

Some stories need space.

Some days, you only have the energy for a few clicks.

Both count. Both matter here.

Whether you're ready to unpack the full story or just send up a flare, this is a place to name what's really happening - without being talked over, doubted, or dismissed.

Tell Us Everything

Share your full story in your own words. Take the space you need.

Safety & Moderation

We take care with what you share. Stories are collected for awareness, education, and community support, not for judgment.

We may anonymize and share trends or excerpts with the community only if you've given us permission.

If your story involves harm, harassment, or safety concerns, we encourage you to connect with local resources and support networks in addition to sharing here.

Need a place to start?

Sometimes the hardest part is finding the first sentence.

Use these prompts when you're posting in the Facebook group, filling out a story form, or just journaling for yourself.

Pick the one that hits the hardest right now.

When did you first realize a gap existed — in pay, respect, safety, or opportunity? What happened?

What's one thing you wish your workplace understood about you — but never seems to?

When have you felt most seen or supported at work? What made that moment different?

What's helped you keep going when the system feels heavy or stacked against you?

If you could change one unspoken rule in your industry, what would it be — and why?

Collective Highlights

Real stories, shared with consent.
Names and details changed where needed, the impact is not.
These are snapshots from people inside The Collective.
They're proof you're not the only one noticing the gap - and that naming it is a powerful first step.

The promotion that never came

I trained three people who were all promoted before me. When I finally asked why, I was told I "didn't seem as committed" because I leave on time to pick up my kid. Seeing other women talk about the 'motherhood penalty' helped me realize it wasn't just me, it was the system.

The joke that wasn't funny

A supervisor made a "joke" about my pronouns in front of a full room. Nobody said anything. Later, two coworkers privately apologized - but I still felt alone. Sharing this story here reminded me that I'm not overreacting. Disrespect isn't a punchline.

The quiet exit

I loved my work, but not the way I was treated. Instead of a big blowup, I slowly stopped raising my hand and eventually left. Reading other stories in this space made me feel less like a failure and more like someone who chose herself.
