Welcome to Expose The Gap

We’re glad you’re here. If you’re curious…
Yes, inequity is still a thing.
But we’re here to face it.

We use a little humor to open the door, but what lives here is serious: data, stories, and the gaps too many people are still pushed through.

Browse the shop, scan the codes, and pull your own receipts on the way things really are.

Our Mission

Expose the Gap is an apparel collective that uses statistics, storytelling, and design to confront discrimination, reveal unknown disparities, and equip people with the courage to challenge them. Through wearable advocacy and unapologetic conversations, we spotlight the gaps that keep people from moving up, hold people back, or just simply make everyday life harder.

We dream of a culture that values integrity over image, equity over ego, and courage over the status quo.

Learn Our Story

Words Matter

The language we use shapes how we understand inequity, and how we talk about changing it.

Equality Isn’t Enough

Treating everyone the same ignores the different barriers people face in real life.

Equity Drives Progress

Equity recognizes those differences and helps create the support needed for everyone to move forward.

Fashion for the Fearless.

We don't just make apparel.
We move people: through community, storytelling, and unapologetic facts.

THE INTERACTIVE DATA

The Hardest Truth to Swallow

1.4%

Only 1.4% of C-suite executives in corporate America are Black women... despite representing 7.4% of the U.S. population. For every hundred people in power, fewer than two are Black women.

This is why allyship matters. We recognize that some truths aren’t ours to tell: but they’re ours to confront. Our role isn’t to speak over anyone. It’s to expose what power still hides

— McKinsey & LeanIn.Org, Women in the Workplace (2024)

The Data Behind the Design

Our mission is built on truth — not trends. Every product begins with research, uncovering the wage, leadership, and respect gaps shaping the real world of work.

63%

of women in construction report being paid less than men for the same work.

— NAWIC, 2023

40%

of LGBTQ+ workers have withheld their identity at work out of fear of bias or retaliation.

— HRC Foundation, 2024

57%

of Latino employees say they’ve felt pressure to conform to white-dominant workplace culture to succeed.

— Coqual, Latinos at Work Report (2023)

Every Identity Deserves a Seat, and Safety, at the Table

<0.3%

of Fortune 500 CEOs publicly identify as LGBTQ+. Representation at the top remains nearly invisible.

If identity feels unsafe in power, progress isn’t real

— Out Leadership, 2023

How Our QR Codes Turn Apparel Into Evidence

2

Choose your lens.

Explore data through the lens that matters most to you, by identity*, industry, or interest.
You can mix, match, or view them all.
Your lens only personalizes the facts: it never limits what you can see.

3

See the facts.
Start the conversation.

Get vetted data, context, and resources in seconds.
Share it, question it, bring it into the room with you.

Sharing your demographic details is completely optional.
You’ll always be able to explore any stats and stories you’re curious about.
When you do choose to share, we only use that information in aggregate to understand who we’re reaching and to better curate future content, we will never limit what you see or to identify you individually.

While inequity exists, then too does our responsibility to fight for everyone; especially those who cant fight for themselves.
Let’s move the needle together.
